Our Logo’s Story
Our logo, inspired by Egyptian hieroglyphics, depicts an eye and tusk image. In the Egyptian language, the eye represents health, and the tusk represents teeth and, therefore, is the symbol for dentistry in hieroglyphics.
In 2006, tomb robbers were arrested for raiding the tombs of a royal dentist and his family. This ancient symbol, carved into the wall above the tombs, revealed to archaeologists the meaning of this lost symbol.
The dentist, entombed in Step Pyramid of King Djoser – believed to be Egypt’s oldest pyramid – served ancient kings nearly 4,000 years ago. The honors bestowed upon the dentist revealed the respect kings had for their dentists and their teeth.
Today, Advent Dental has adopted a modern version of this ancient hieroglyphic symbol as a reminder that oral health is foundational to overall wellness and an exceptional quality of life.
Today, high-quality, modern dentistry is available to everyone who visits our Midtown Manhattan dental practice. Whether royalty or not, our patients are treated with respect, compassion, and can count on the royal treatment while they are with us.
